How to tell if you already have Photosmart Premier software on your PC

Content starts here

If you own an HP Photosmart printer, Deskjet, OfficeJet, PSC (Printer, Scanner, Copier), camera, or scanner, you may already have received the HP Image Zone software with your product.

Use either of the two options below to confirm which version of the HP imaging software you have.

1. Check the version of the HP imaging software on your PC:

  a. Open HP Image Zone or HP Photosmart Premier from the desktop icon, or by clicking Start > All Programs > HP and then select HP Image Zone or HP Photosmart Premier:
  Desktop start menu
  b. After Image Zone or Photosmart Premier has opened, click on "Help" in the top right-hand corner:
  Help menu
  c. Click on "About HP Image Zone" or "About HP Photosmart Premier".
  d. If your version of Image Zone is 5.3 or newer, you already have the software.

2. Check the version of the HP imaging software from the disc that came with your HP device:

  a. If your CD version number shows 5.3 or above (e.g., 5.3, 5.5, 6.0, etc.), you already have the software. Version numbers may appear on the CD in various formats. Below are some examples using version 5.3:
  • 5.3
  • 5.3.0
  • V5.3.000.000 for Windows 2000/XP
  • Image Zone (or Photosmart Premier) Version 5.3
  • Image Zone (or Photosmart Premier) 5.3

If your HP imaging device CD version shows 5.3 or above and you do not see Image Zone or Photosmart Premier installed on your PC, your CD may not have been configured to install Image Zone or Photosmart Premier by default. You can reinsert your product CD in your CD drive and use custom install choices to install Image Zone or Photosmart Premier.
