Bluetooth

Wireless technology invented to make transferring data, such as digital photos, quick and easy. The short range (30') wireless connection facilitates communication between wireless devices such as mobile phones, PDAs and handheld PCs, and wireless enabled laptop or desktop PCs, printers and peripherals.

Bluetooth-integrated

A PC that has Bluetooth capabilities built in. No adapter is required.

Bluetooth-enabled

A printer or PC that is capable of Bluetooth printing with a Bluetooth adapter, such as the HP Wireless Adapter with Bluetooth. This allows you to print photos directly from your Bluetooth camera phone directly to your printer, or by downloading to your PC.

Note: Most HP printers support Bluetooth printing. See the latest online at Hpshopping.ca. If you have an older printer, check your manual for Bluetooth capability.

Basic Imaging Profile (BIP)

Designed for sending images between devices and includes the ability to resize, and convert images to JPEGs, making them suitable for the receiving device.

Basic Printing Profile (BPP)

This enables wireless devices to send text, e-mails, vCards, or other items to printers. Suitable for embedded devices such as mobile phones and digital cameras which cannot easily be updated with drivers. This allows any Bluetooth-sending device to get legible output on any Bluetooth-enabled printer.

Megapixel

A megapixel is one million pixels. The number of pixels that a digital camera can produce in an image is expressed in megapixels.

The higher the megapixel value, the higher the image resolution.

Memory card

The system used to store images by most digital cameras and camera phones. Unlike a PC memory card, this card retains data even without electricity. Four main types of memory cards are in use today in camera phones, such as the Mini SD and Micro SD memory card.

Memory card adapter

Frequently memory cards used in camera phones are smaller than standard sized memory cards. Memory card adapters allow you to use these cards in printers equipped with standard-sized memory card slots (For example, you can insert a mini-SD card into a SD card adaptor).

Note: All new HP Photosmart printers support memory cards. See the latest printers online at Hpshopping.ca.
