Occasionally, HP releases service patch updates for HP Web Jetadmin to address issues experienced by our customers.  These updates may be a full release of the software depending upon the complexity and number of fixes involved.

Service Patch 6 for HP Web Jetadmin is now available for download as a full release.  Once installed, the HP Web Jetadmin version will indicate 8.1.3872.

If it is uncertain whether service patch 6 has been installed on an existing HP Web Jetadmin 8.1 installation, check the version under Help, HP Web Jetadmin, About in the navigation tree.  The following build numbers represent the possible versions of HP Web Jetadmin 8.1 that can be installed:

Service Patch 6 has been tested as an upgrade for versions of HP Web Jetadmin 3570 (SP1) and greater.  However, since SP6 is released only as a full downloadable version, it may upgrade earlier versions as well without issue.  This new version will include all fixes introduced in all service patches since the release of HP Web Jetadmin 8.1.

Service Patch 6 includes the following new fixes since the release of SP5:
  • Added home screen setup configuration
  • Split system contact item into two separate objects: system contact and contact person
  • 11x17/A3 column now correctly displays for 11x17 printers
  • Company name is now available for custom alerts
  • Setting language via EWS now reflects in Web Jetadmin
  • Scheduled configurations will only appear for devices that are scheduled
  • Bad characters in system location field no longer cause multiple columns to be combined together
  • Daylight Savings Time configuration now correctly appears for devices where it should
  • Time Zone can now be properly set on devices
  • Log will now correctly claim success for operations that succeed
  • Added usage columns per size
  • Log no longer contains many lines with just a question mark “?”
  • HP LaserJet CP3505 now offers many alert types beyond just offline
  • Estimated supplies level columns now contain actual data rather than blanks for Edgeline devices
  • Additional logging information to detect potential thread pool crashes
  • Fixed memory leaks
  • Fixed multiple causes of Web Jetadmin crashes
  • Removed generic EWS SET/GET entries in log file
  • Refreshing a device now updates the discovery date column with a new date
  • Improved performance in opening single configuration
  • View Log now opens a new details page
  • LDAP Filter Condition no longer errors if blank
  • Removed the code strings that were appearing under configuration
  • Web Jetadmin 8.1 can now discover Web Jetadmin 10 installations
  • Improved the error log message for disk erase failure
  • OfficeJet Pro K5400 now offers many alert types beyond just offline
  • Added alternative letterhead mode under configuration
  • Added default options for originals under configuration
  • Added keyboard layout under configuration
  • Set community name can now be set with numbers at the end
  • Current file system password can now be entered when setting secure erase
  • EWS password column now correct reflects set or not set
  • Added tray behavior, use requested tray under configuration
  • Device password is no longer falsely limited to 12 characters
  • HP Color LaserJet 3500/3550 now offers many alert types beyond just offline
  • HP Color LaserJet 2600n was previously offering too many alerts
  • Transfer kit alerts are no longer errantly offered for mono devices
  • Fixed failures setting daily wakeup on HP LaserJet CP3505
  • EWS password can now be cleared on device from Web Jetadmin
  • Staples alerts on Edgeline devices now successfully subscribe
  • Toner out alerts now correctly comply with time to ignore setting
  • Added threshold alert for cleaning kit
  • Added column for cleaning kit
  • Corrected code string appearing under Digital Sending configuration for HP Color LaserJet 4730mfp
  • Stapler stacker mode now correctly working for HP LaserJet M9050mfp
  • Added bonding agent column for Edgeline devices
  • Web Jetadmin now displays new printer firmware on device after upgrade
  • Improved performance for subscriptions to alerts
  • Error log no longer reports server ran out of threads
  • Maintenance kit alerts are now correctly subscribing on devices
  • Improved mechanism for delivering toner out alerts
  • Removed errant toner low entries appearing in alerts log
  • Added Multi Domain Kerberos configuration
  • Fixed issue whereby Device Location, System Location, and System Contact could be missing characters in columns
