Hewlett-Packard is pleased to announce a new release of hp report generation plug-in, version 3.0.41.
Before installing this plug-in, Service Patch 2 for HP Web Jetadmin (www.hp.com/go/wja_components) must first be installed.
 | The features and/or fixes contained in this updated release include:
 |
 |
- Previous to this release, HP Report Generation Plug-in was not able to collect by-user data on a printer if that printer's SNMP Trap Destination Table contained a conflicting entry to the entry used by HP Report Generation Plug-in. The conflict was created when an entry in the table with the same IP address but different Port Number of the entry used by HP Report Generation Plug-in (which uses Port 27894) occurred before the HP Report Generation Plug-in entry. This has now been resolved.
- Overall accuracy of the data collection process has been significantly improved, making the HP Report Generation Plug-in reports more reliable
- Data displayed in the Media Size and Media Usage reports is now consistent, allowing values across the various columns of these reports to be displayed accurately
- For MySQL support, this release of HP Report Generation Plug-in (3.0.41) only supports version 5.0
Items addressed in the 3.0.37 release of HP Report Generation Plug-in and included in this release are:
- A 'Gather Now' button exists on the Data Collection page for performing an immediate data collection on the selected device or group of devices
- Optimized data collection to improve performance
- Data Collection schedules no longer get reset when the HP Web Jetadmin Service is stopped and then restarted
- HP Report Generation Plug-in is now able to sense when it loses the connection to the database and re-connects automatically
- If HP Report Generation Plug-in cannot automatically re-connect to the Microsoft SQL Server database, MySQL database, or Microsoft Access database, an email message will be sent to the administrator, notifying him/her of the situation
- HP Report Generation Plug-in can now collect data on a printer that has an apostrophe in the printer's Description field
- The HP Color LaserJet 9500mfp now collects data accurately and reports page counts properly
- The HP Color LaserJet 4730mfp now collects data accurately and reports page counts properly
- When creating a report, the option 'Device Groups' under the 'Group By' function is now available
- Resolved the issue that causes the device information header to not be displayed in a report
- In By-User reports, a printer will no longer be listed if there are no page counts associated with it
- The total number of printers listed in a report is now displayed as part of the main header information of a report
- Added the ability to schedule a yearly report so that it is emailed monthly, allowing for a 12-month sliding interval to be reported
- HP Report Generation Plug-in Fax reports now display the actual phone number each MFP device is using
- In HP Report Generation Plug-in reports, older black and white printers now show N/A instead of 0 for Color page counts
- On the HP Report Generation Plug-in Preferences page, the From Email Address value can now be cleared
- Improved the Progress Bar accuracy when creating a report
- Improved the layout for the SureSupply email report
- For MySQL support, this release of HP Report Generation Plug-in (3.0.37) only supports version 5.0
Items addressed in the 3.0.26 release of HP Report Generation Plug-in and included in this release are:
- Engine Page Count is now consistently displayed as an integer value, not a decimal value
- When configuring a By-User Device Pages report, the 'Show top users' field now defaults to All or 100% instead of a minimum value
- HP Report Generation Plug-in now closes any ports it opened with the database, eliminating random database disconnections due to too many open ports
- In the By-User Media Size reports, the page counts for the A3 Sheets and A4 Sheets columns are now properly displayed
- The time it takes to display HP Report Generation Plug-in pages that display HP Web Jetadmin Device Groups has been significantly improved
- Fax Counts are now correctly displayed for the HP LaserJet 9050mfp and HP LaserJet 4345mfp, and for the HP Color LaserJet 9500mfp and HP Color LaserJet 4730mfp
- Reports can now be created when using MySQL as the HP Report Generation Plug-in database of choice
- Certain data fields could not be removed from a report; now any field can be removed
- In the By-User Application report, the Totals fields are now properly aligned
- When scheduling a Device Pages Custom Page Count report, all the selected data fields are now properly displayed in the report
- For clarity and consistency, the name of the Device Units : Media Size : By Reporting Interval report name was changed to Device Units : Media Usage : By Reporting Interval to better reflect the data in the report
HP Report Generation Plug-in depends on an external database management system being in place. Given this, the following database management systems are supported:
- Microsoft Access version 2002 and 2003
- Microsoft SQL Server version 2000
- Microsoft MSDE (Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine) version 2000
- MySQL Server version 5.0
