HP places among ten best web support sites of 2004

This year both the HP Business Support Center (BSC) and the HP IT Resource Center (ITRC) support websites were selected as two of the 2004 "Ten Best Web Support Sites" by the Association of Support Professionals (ASP). This prestigious award showcases excellence in online service and support.

The award winners were selected by a panel of judges based on 25 different criteria including:

  • Overall usability, design, and navigation
  • Knowledgebase and search implementation
  • Interactive features
  • Personalization
  • Major site development challenge

"The Web continues to grow as an important and popular medium for delivering customer support," ASP executive director Jeffrey Tarter notes. "Web support is no longer just a way to save on the cost of answering the phone--it's now recognized as the gateway to a much richer choice of support-related services than customers can get from a live agent."

Other 2004 winners include (in alphabetical order) - Apple Computer, Cognos, Interwoven, Iomega, National Instruments, Research Machines, and Xilinx.

HP’s BSC is part of a broad array of HP eSupport Services for business users. The BSC is a one-stop technical support portal for business professionals that helps solve technical problems quickly, whether they’re related to HP PCs, printers, storage, or other desktop computing devices. The BSC provides seamless access to HP’s innovative and unique Instant Support tools, including rich diagnostics and automated driver checks. If customers require additional help, they can contact an HP support engineer via online chat, email or phone.

As part of HP eSupport Services, HP’s ITRC is a one-stop support site for IT professionals, providing an online source of complementary services for HP products. The ITRC provides many tools at the IT professional’s fingertips allowing them to log and track support requests, search technical databases, access software updates, participate in online forums, choose from over 3,000 online training programs, and receive "live" assistance from an HP Services professional.
